However as I think I've found a new Virtualbox failure situation and a solution I thought I'd add it here. I've just spent a couple of days becoming increasingly frustrated with Virtual box not loading a Win XP virtual machine. I've been using Virtual box for running a couple of quite expensive to replace programs that do not run on Win 7.
Until recently I've had no problems at all and was still using Virtualbox 4. I clearly changed something. This could have been a Windows update, but I suspect it was something else. I had all the references others have reported to log files and hardening. After much unloading and loading of Virtual box I suddenly had a feeling that the problem might have started when I installed the Rapport extension to work with Firefox. To cut a long story to the essentials if you unload (not simply deactivate) Rapport Virtualbox 5.2.12 works fine.
The unloading and reloading of Rapport is fortunately quite quick. For anybody not familiar with Trusteer Rapport, it is a program widely supported by banking companies that checks the integrity of the connection between your PC and primarily banking websites, although you can use it for any website. I've never had a defective connection flagged but it is supposed to ensure you have not been rerouted via somebody who is interested in your login details. It does quite a lot more as well. Socratis, thank you for making this thread a sticky. Ive been chasing this problem for several weeks and found this thread tonight.
Agree problem was indeed caused by IBM Trusteer prpogram. I've just uninstalled my Trusteer program and now everything is working fine with Virtual Box.
I had Trusteer Endpoint Protection installed on my Windows 7-64 Host running a legacy Windows XP Machine I've been using for years. It was updated in early June. I only use my VirtualBox occasionally as it is not mission critical.
In mid June when I tried to use the VirtualBox it crashed for a Hardening error. Unloading Trusteer Endpoint Protection was a little involved and ultimately directed me to an IBM web page to enter a reason why I removed it.
I sent IBM the problem - hopefully they will get this fixed. Not sure what the difference is between Trusteer Endpoint Protection and Trustee Rapport. From what I could find they are the same thing. Posts: 1 Joined: 4.
Jul 2018, 06:05 Primary OS: MS Windows 7 VBox Version: OSE other Guest OSses: Windows XP. All, I had the same issue with virtualbox (latest version) and I unable to start any of my VM's as it reports a hardening issue. After many hours googling the issue, the finger of suspicion was pointing to Trusteer Rapport which is software strongly recommended by my bank for safer online banking. I uninstalled the software and the VM's now all start.
I reinstalled the rapport software and initially the VM's continued to start but within a day they started to fail again. Looking at the Trusteer website very little support information was available. However, I logged a support ticket and surprisingly received a response within the hour and the suggested 'workaround'. This is a know problem by Trusteer Support. Dear Nick, Thank you for contacting IBM Security Trusteer Technical Support.

This is not a virtualbox software issue. I hope this helps Regards Nick Holmes.
Do you think the new iPhone SE will be slpash/water proof and will have wireless charging? I need to get a new phone this month and decided SE is a perfect match, but I've heard rumors the new version is on the way and those two changes would make a perfect phone for me.
I'm also wondering will it be out closer to January or Maybe April and will it be much more expensive than the current SE? I know we can only guess, but I think your guesses will be more accurate than mine because I've never owned an iPhone before and it's a huge investment for me. I'm a little bit scared I will get it and a month ago there will be much better phone at the same price:( submitted by Posted: 07 Dec 2017 08:27 PM PST. I recently wiped my 2008 iMac in preparation for selling.
However, I decided to keep it as a second desktop. I reinstalled Mac OS Leopard, and updated it to Mac OS Snow Leopard using a 10.6.8 disc we purchased years back. I'm looking to update to Mac OS Mavericks so that my computer is supported by applications (Chrome, uTorrent, etc) but I physically can't.
When I go to the Apple site and try to download it from there, the download button doesn't show up. I tried finding another browser to use to avoid this issue but no browsers support such an old version of the OS.
Everything on my computer is up to date: the OS, Safari, iTunes, etc. There is nothing left to update to try and solve this issue other than the computer itself, which leads me full circle back to my original problem. I'm currently lost as to where to go from here. I know that if I update my computer to at least Mac OS Mountain Lion, I can avoid this issue.
However, I don't feel like forking over $20 just so that I can install a free software update. Any ideas as to what I can do here? Submitted by Posted: 07 Dec 2017 07:39 PM PST. Had two charges on my account. The charges happened early this morning on my account ending in xxxx but I have not used my card since late last month. Apple support said it was likely someone added my card to their account, made the purchase, then removed the account. Fortunately they only spent $70 and apple refused/refunded the charges.
I already requested new cards for my wife and I. Are there any other steps that we should take? Contact the police?

When I press the button, nothing happens. It disappears for a split second so it registers my click, then it reappears. I can also use find my friends perfectly fine if I go to the messages app, and click 'detail' on a person. Then I can view where they are at any given time, but this specific widget isn't working anymore, and I really would like a fix for this. Submitted by Posted: 07 Dec 2017 06:38 PM PST.
Late 2013 Macbook Pro 256SSD/16GB - OSX HS (latest) Periodically my mac will be extremely glitchy, like mouse hesitates, lagging behind etc. I'm not sure if it's just since I installed the latest OSX updates or if it was before that. It's soooooo annoying.

All I will have open is one chrome tab with youtube and sketch, maybe Imessage as well. It just slows right now, then speeds up after a couple minutes. Music will get patchy, mouse jerky etc. The activity monitor is normal, about 6 chrome helpers, but that's about it. The only other funny thing I noticed is that better snap tool/airplay/other upper bar items may close an open again? I've tired resetting pram/smc and this computer doesn't have a ton of stuff on it. Tried closing adobe CC incase it was being funny.
Still does it. Ran malwarebytes, nothing came back. Can this be a sign of something failing? How can I check?
Submitted by Posted: 07 Dec 2017 06:17 PM PST. Does anybody know about this issue? After upgrading to High Sierra (Version 10.13.1), my MBP started randomly locking the screen. I can simply unlock it again with TouchID. It only happens when there is no interaction with the computer (mouse, keyboard). It only happens sometimes during the day.
There is no magnetic device interfering with the magnetic lid sensor. I have never had this issue before. I have not installed any new apps recently. However, I have started using an app called 'Witch' for more efficient use of CMD + Tab (but, disabling this app does not solve the issue). Submitted by Posted: 07 Dec 2017 03:07 PM PST.
I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012) running on MacOS High Sierra. This past 5 days I noticed sometimes the return and R shift stop working. I've tried restarting, checking my keyboard settings, turning off Bluetooth, turning off the device, trying different pressures when pressing the keys, and resetting SMC. I do notice that after a long while, the keys will begin to work again but it's a really annoying issue especially when finals papers and such need to be typed. If you have any tips, please let me know!
Submitted by Posted: 07 Dec 2017 04:52 PM PST. It has been less than three months since i had my mac (15' 2016 touchbar). The most recent event is installing bootcamp to the computer. I restarted the computer today and started to see the vertical stripes as you can see here: I tried the Apple diagnostic and went through the recovery menu, and it says they show no issues. When I start the computer the hard drive progress bar fills up (after i put in my password) goes for about 30% of the way then it stops. In the PC version when you when I go to Boot Camp, an error pops up saying they can't diagnose the problem.
If all else fails I will send to apple, but I was hoping there was a way to fix it through software. Any help/suggestions will be welcome. Submitted by Posted: 07 Dec 2017 12:14 PM PST. We got an iPad Pro WiFi+Cellular on at a Best Buy and stuck in a T-Mobile SIM card that has an old 6GB of data per month plan and it worked for a few days. For the past week, the iPad says 'No Service.' We've called T-Mobile and stayed on the line with them troubleshooting for at least 40 minutes.
We've used two SIM cards that work on other devices. It's currently running iOS 11.2 (15C114).
Both the T-Mobile rep and the Apple rep that she called were stumped. Submitted by Posted: 07 Dec 2017 02:01 PM PST. I have a 13' Late 2011 MacBook Pro with the following specs:. 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5. 4GB RAM. 240GB SSD I just put in the SSD and did an internet recovery, which installed Lion 10.7.5. From a performance perspective, should I just leave it there?
Or will I get any kind of benefits from upgrading to the latest (or a later) macOS? My concern is I upgrade and then everything is much slower due to the machine not being able to handle the system requirements. Submitted by Posted: 07 Dec 2017 05:13 PM PST. So I'm watching something off Netflix app on my Apple TV (I believe its 3rd generation Rev A) and all of a sudden the show stops and i'm back to the episode selection menu. I click play but a moment later the show quits and back to the episode menu. Few seconds later while still on that screen. I start hearing people talking.
It was odd, I thought the app was acting up and the show was still playing in the background. But then I realized the person talking sounds like my neighbor!
Moment later, it sounds like he's unable to hear the person on the other end, so he ends the call and dial again (sounds like skype from the hanging up and ringing tones). Again talk for few seconds then disconnect and call again. All of this while I'm still within netflix app and looking at the episode menu. Actually its happening again right this moment! Whats going on?
Submitted by Posted: 07 Dec 2017 05:13 PM PST. I have an iPhone 7 and yesterday my service started going in and out constantly I tried hard resetting my phone numerous times, restored network settings, updated my iOS. Basically went through every trouble shooting thing I've come across online. I finally call Apple and she tells me to try a new SIM card.
I get my new sim card this morning and my phone worked for approximately 2 hours before my service starts flickering again. I don't understand what's going on - now one of my girlfriend's is saying her iPhone 7 is doing the same thing. Is ANYBODY else having these issues? Is there any solution I could possibly not be considering?
I don't have enough money for a new phone right now, but I can't do my job without a phone. I'm just so frustrated! Can anybody help me? Submitted by Posted: 07 Dec 2017 05:05 PM PST. Alright, so today while trying to take a picture it said that my memory was too full. No problem, I'm gonna delete this and this.
Going into Setting- Storage, I see 5 Gb is being used with nothing free. But, after quickly adding wall the apps and stuff below, I'm at roughly 3 GB. Itunes also says that I have 1,5 Gb free. So, is there a way to fix this? My phone is nearly paralyzed by this sudden memory bloating. Should I restore it using iTunes, or will I loose all my contacts.
